To prevent waste and to quarantee wood qualities of oak, the first layers in the outer parts of boules are sawn into boards. We call these boards: sapwood boards. 

After this proces, the remaining part of a boule will be sawn into the desired qualities and dimensions.

Sapwood boards are competitively priced and could be recognized by the rough edged and small thicknesses (in this case 27 mm).
