Every wood species is classified in a certain durability class. The durability classification reflects the resistance of the heartwood to elemental and natural forces of decay. Durability class 1 is very durable and class 5 is not durable at all.

The Orelha de Macaco beams are available in head size 42 mm x 68 mm. The lengths vary from 215 cm to 515 cm.
In case you are going to put up a terrace with hardwood, it is very important to account the natural shrinkage or expansion (movement in service) of the wood.
